Cardinal Lubomyr Husar, head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC), sent an open letter to Ukrainian Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych and the head of the organizing committee for the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Soviet-imposed famine in Ukraine. In it, he stressed that “the organizers did not have sufficient understanding of the greatness and value of this commemoration,” and expressed his hope that this event will receive more appropriate recognition in Ukraine in the future. Representatives of Protestant churches on 13 November in Kyiv picketed the municipal administration demanding that the rental agreement for the Embassy of God be prolonged.
