Thousands Take Part in Inauguration of New Ukrainian Greek Catholic Seminary

Lviv, 29 August 2005, zenit.org--Thousands of faithful took part in the inauguration of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Seminary of the Holy Spirit in Lviv on 28 August 2005. Cardinal Lubomyr Husar, head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, called the seminary a "gift from God" for the country's reviving martyr-church.

Progressive Judaism Community of Lutsk Joins International Twinning Project

National Deputy Calls Declaration of Patriarchate Ukrainian Greek Catholics’ Private Business

Lviv – “One step was taken towards the patriarchate of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC)… Another two still to go,” commented National Deputy Oleksa Hudyma, head of the civic movement For the Patriarchate of the UGCC, on the move of the administrative center of the head of the UGCC to Kyiv on 21 August 2005. Autocephalous Orthodox-Canonical Patriarch Had Forged Documents, Metropolitan States

Patriarch Moisei (secular name Oleh Kulyk), head of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church-Canonical (UAOC-C), publicly claimed he had received a mandate on 12 October 2002 from Metropolitan Alexis Nizza, then head of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church in the Diaspora. On 24 August 2005, the Chancery of the Autonomous Ukrainian Orthodox Church in America (formerly the UAOC-C) received notification from now retired Metropolitan Alexis Nizza stating that the above-specified mandate [ukase] 3098 is, in the words of Metropolitan Alexis, "A complete forgery."

Donetsk Regional Administration Founds Council of Religious Organizations
