Kherson – On 26 and 27 April 2007 in the building of the regional children’s library in southern Ukrainian Kherson, representatives of the Service for Youth Matters (SYM) at the Kherson Regional Administration (KRA) met with leaders of local religious organizations. Kyiv – The Kyiv City Council on 26 April 2007 decided to allot land in two neighborhoods on which the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) will be allowed to build churches.

Lublin, Poland – An icon with relics of Blessed Bishop Mykolai Chernetskyi was presented on 22 April 2007 to the Roman Catholic parish in Horodel, Lublin County, Poland, by the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Province of the Redemptorist order. The relic will be kept at the former Greek Catholic church in Horodel, which was blessed by then Fr. Charnetskyi 70 years ago. Today the building is a Roman Catholic church.

Kyiv – More than 300 representatives of the Armenian community from Kyiv and other cities of Ukraine participated in a memorial ceremony for the victims of the genocide conducted against the Armenian population by the Ottoman-Turkish Empire in the early 20th century. Khmelnytskyi – Archbishop Antonii (Fialko) of Khmelnytskyi and Shepetivka of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) opened the session of the scholarly seminar “Christian Ethics in Ukrainian Culture” held on 25 April 2007 in the building of the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management in central Ukrainian Khmelnytskyi. All in all, 150 people participated. Among those invited were lecturers of Borys Hrinchenko University in Kyiv and directors and teachers of secondary schools in the Khmelnytskyi Region.

Kyiv – On 25 April 2007 at the Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, a round-table discussion “Ukraine’s New Religions” was conducted. The initiator was the Department of Religious Studies and Center of Religious Information and Freedom of the Ukrainian Association of Religious Studies. Rivne Police Hold Icons Worth Millions 27.04.2007, [10:11] // Violation of rights //
Rivne – One of the long corridors of the regional police department in northwestern Ukrainian Rivne and the room next to the assembly hall have been turned into a kind of exhibition gallery. The police have placed 425 ancient icons and church items, allegedly worth millions of dollars, taken through the Kyiv Region. Today priests from all over Ukraine whose churches were robbed come, hoping to find their stolen church items. No icon owners have been found yet, reported the newspaper “Evening Rivne” on 26 April 2007.
